A gum resin extracted from Furula plants, asafoetida is common in Indian and Persian cuisines.  It has a strong unpleasant smell when raw but produces an onion/garlic flavor when cooked.  Used in pickling, as a condiment and sometimes as a  digestive aid. 

INGREDIENTS: 40% organic asafoetida and 60% organic fenugreek as a processing aid.
