Oolong teas are semi-fermented, or partially oxidized. Somewhat between and green and black tea. They can range from sweet and light (Bai Hao), very floral (Orchid Oolong), or darker (Monkey Picked). Whatever you choose, you will get multiple infusions. So while they may be a little more expensive, they're worth it.
Leaves for oolong are briefly withered and then "bruised" to bring out some color, but not broken as black teas are. Firing takes place to halt oxidation--the longer the oxidation the darker the oolong will be.
